Temporary Payroll Tax Accountant

📋 Description

• Audit and reconcile payroll tax filings for five U.S. entities (CY2020–present)
• Research variances, resolve tax notices, and file amendments with agencies
• Maintain accurate documentation of audits and research
• Ensure accurate submission of payroll tax dollars
• Remote role; up to 40 hrs/week; 3-month contract; $35-$45/hr

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of U.S. payroll tax experience for large multi-state employer
• Ability to operate independently with little oversight
• Self-starter; works with sense of urgency
• Advanced Excel skills including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
