Audit and reconcile ~200 payroll tax filings (federal, state, local) for five U.S. entities.
Research variances, resolve tax notices, and file amendments with agencies.
Maintain accurate documentation of audits and research.
Reports to the Senior Manager of Payroll.
Remote role; up to 40 hrs/wk; 3-month duration; $35-$45/hr.

🎯 Requirements

3+ years' U.S. payroll tax experience for a large multi-state employer
Ability to operate independently with little oversight
Self-starter; works with urgency
Advanced Excel skills: V-Lookup and Pivot Tables
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced env
Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field (or equivalent)
