Temporary, Payroll Accountant (US and Canadian Payroll)

📋 Description

• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline and resolve variances within 30 days
• Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions
• Prepare payroll accrual and actual payroll expense files for the GL team
• Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two entities, ensuring timely, compliant delivery
• Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to payroll records and resolve discrepancies

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of payroll accounting experience with exposure to payroll ops and GL
• Able to hit the ground running in a new environment with minimal ramp-up
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline or similar ERP and reconciliation tools
• Strong payroll compliance knowledge, including US federal/state requirements; Canadian payroll a plus
• Meticulous about accuracy and ownership of details
• Clear communicator who can respond quickly and professionally to cross-functional requests
