The Basics:

As the Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence, you will lead efforts to analyze the competitive landscape across endpoint management and security, delivering strategic insights that shape product direction, go-to-market strategy, and executive decision-making.

You will be responsible for producing high-impact deliverables—including battlecards, competitive positioning frameworks, objection-handling content, and enablement training—that empower sales, product, and marketing teams to win in the market.

Working cross-functionally with stakeholders in systems engineering, domain architecture, sales, channel, and product management, you will gather and synthesize intelligence to inform product lifecycle planning, messaging, and strategic account tactics. Your work will directly influence how we position our solutions, respond to competitive threats, and identify opportunities for differentiation.

This role requires a strong blend of analytical rigor, storytelling, and strategic thinking, with the ability to build scalable tools and frameworks that drive alignment and action across the organization.

This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead ongoing analysis of competitors’ products, pricing, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Develop and maintain competitive selling presentations, battlecards, win/loss insights, and content for executive briefings.

  • Create field responses

    to major competitor moves and analyst research placement (Gartner MQ/CC, IDC MarketScape, Forrester Wave,

    other

    ).

  • Partner with Product,

    Marketing,

    Sales

    including Ops, AR

    to synthesize market trends and threats.

  • Work closely with Product Marketing, Field Enablement, and Sales Leadership to ensure competitive insights are actionable.

  • Build frameworks and processes to scale competitive intelligence across the organization.

  • Work with

    CI and

    content management/

    enablement

    platforms

    (

    e.g.,

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Education
    • BA/BS or equivalent industry experience

      required

      .

  • Experience

    • 7+ years product marketing and/or competitive intelligence experience in a security, IT operations, or networking company.

    • Familiarity with

      endpoint management and security,

      ITSM

      ,

      SIEM, SOAR, EDR

      solutions

      a plus.

    • Strong collaboration skills with

      demonstrated

      ability to partner with diverse stakeholders.

    • Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally.

    • Results-oriented

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 to $290,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.

In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
