Senior AI Platform Engineer

The ML & AI Enablement team at ABN AMRO is looking for an AI Platform Engineer, a creative builder with an innovative mindset, engineering excellence, and a passion for enabling thousands of developers to bring AI into production safely and securely.

You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team that builds and operates ABN AMRO’s central AI platform, a shared service powering AI and GenAI initiatives across the bank. You will work closely with data science, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to design and deliver robust, scalable, and secure AI platform services.

• Design, build, and maintain AI capabilities and services on Azure using the latest Azure AI stack.

• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) for platform components and user onboarding.

• Integrate modern AI tools (Databricks, OpenAI SDK, Azure AI Services) into a unified platform experience.

• Enable AI use cases through shared infrastructure and standardized APIs, not by developing use cases directly.

• Ensure security, compliance, and scalability of all AI services used across ABN AMRO.

• Support and educate 2,000+ developers on secure and efficient AI adoption.

• Continuously assess and implement industry best practices for AI reliability, observability, and lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and reliability teams to deliver end-to-end platform resilience.

• 4+ years hands-on experience building or managing AI/ML services in Azure.

• Strong software engineering background (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

• Familiarity with AI/ML principles (LLMs, GenAI, RAG, observability, labeling).

• Proficient with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.

• Knowledge of Databricks, Spark, MLflow, Airflow, AKS, or similar platforms is a plus.

• Awareness of security and compliance in cloud environments.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

• Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-500) are a strong plus.

• Proactive, communicative, and comfortable challenging user demands in favor of what the bank truly needs.
