The IT Specialist Connectivity role is part of the Distributed Services (DS) department within Telecom – Connectivity, which operates under the Group Organization of our client.
DS is responsible for delivering agreed ICT services to the business, ensuring the optimal, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the organization’s complex ICT network infrastructure. The focus is on maintaining high availability, strong performance, and continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
Within the Distributed Services organization, the Connectivity team manages several key service domains:
LAN Services: Delivery of local area network infrastructure
Wi-Fi Services: Provision of campus-specific Wi-Fi infrastructure
Mobility Services: Delivery of campus cellular data services
Connected Object Services: IoT sensor and gateway infrastructure
Connected Aircraft Services: Infrastructure services supporting both airborne and on-ground operations
The Telecom Connectivity department operates transversally across all Business and IT units and has a strong international focus, collaborating closely between the Netherlands and France.
You will be part of an international team of IT and network specialists located in the Netherlands and France. The position reports to the Manager Telecom Connectivity and/or the Service Operations Manager (SOM) for Connectivity.
Your main workplace will be Schiphol-Rijk, the Netherlands.
As an IT Specialist Connectivity, you will ensure the reliable operation of the organization’s LAN, Wi-Fi, and mobile data infrastructure. Your main responsibilities include:
Managing daily RUN operations (primarily 2nd/3rd line) for Change, Problem, Incident, and Request Management.
Participating in small-scale business and technical projects.
Designing, engineering, configuring, and implementing ICT infrastructure improvements.
Advising the SOM (Product Owner) and maintaining up-to-date documentation and operational procedures.
Contributing to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and process optimization.
Supporting analysis and resolution of technical issues to ensure service reliability.
Identifying opportunities for synergy and optimization across Telecom solutions.
Designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting development environments for the DS & OPS product teams.
You are a technically skilled and motivated IT professional who enjoys innovation and tackling complex challenges. You thrive in an agile/scrum environment and value collaboration within a diverse, international team.

You will collaborate with colleagues in both the Netherlands and France and interact with external vendors. Note that both LAN and Wi-Fi services in Amsterdam are fully outsourced to major suppliers, requiring strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
