ING - Cloud DevOps Engineer

As a SAS Infrastructure DevOps Engineer, you’ll design, automate, and run the next-generation SAS Viya 4 platform at ING. You’ll combine Linux, automation, and CI/CD with secure, compliant cloud operations to deliver a reliable analytics backbone for the bank.

What you’ll do

• Install, upgrade, and operate SAS Viya 4 (and/or SAS 9) on container platforms.

• Administer RHEL; harden systems and align with banking compliance.

• Operate and optimize GKE and/or AKS clusters (GCP focus).

• Build infra as code with Ansible and Terraform; own lifecycle & release mgmt.

• Implement CI/CD with Azure DevOps; manage Git workflows.

• Script in Python/Shell/PowerShell for automation, DR/backup, and runbooks.

• Integrate enterprise tooling (e.g., GCP Monitoring, CMDB); document thoroughly.

• Work in Agile/DevOps; contribute to platform reliability, DR, and capacity.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT (or equivalent experience).

• Strong Linux administration (RHEL) and infra automation (Ansible/Terraform).

• Proven experience automating platform operations in Agile/DevOps teams.

• CI/CD with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos) and Git.

• Solid scripting (Python and/or Shell/PowerShell).

• Excellent English.

• SAS platform administration (SAS 9.4 and/or SAS Viya).

• Kubernetes ops on GKE and/or AKS.

• Banking/security hardening; DR/backup design.

• Build a greenfield Viya 4 platform on GCP that will serve multiple internal clients.

• Blend architecture with hands-on delivery; real impact on platform direction.

• Highly collaborative team; opportunity to coach and standardize best practices.

• Hybrid: 2 days onsite (Mon & Thu), rest remote; 36 hrs/week (32 possible).

• 12-month engagement with potential extension or transition.
