- Work with vendors and internal teams to qualify onboarding and deliver firmware
- Act as Tier 3 on-call for firmware triage and resolution in the DO fleet
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation; improve firmware and automation
- Collaborate with hardware vendors on automation features and bugs; build tooling/runbooks
- Coordinate with Ops on monitoring thresholds, failure modes and alerting
- Raise quality by adopting industry best practices in cloud infra
🎯 Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of x86 server hardware architecture
- Experience with non-x86 hardware; configuration management with Ansible and Chef
- Experience automating server firmware with Redfish and IPMI; benchmarking and test automation
- Knowledge of PXE boot, UEFI, Linux boot, BIOS/BMC, RAID, and NIC firmware; networking
- Git proficiency; one programming language such as Python or Go; ability to 24/7 on-call
- Excellent communication and passion for hardware
