Summit TX is a multi-manager hedge fund managing over $3 billion in AUM. We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Infrastructure to lead the firm’s technology infrastructure strategy. This newly created role spans cloud, end-user, cybersecurity, and DevOps domains, combining hands-on technical depth with strategic leadership.
You will oversee the firm’s infrastructure roadmap, manage MSP and vendor relationships, and drive modernization across cloud and on-prem environments. The role requires strong expertise in AWS, enterprise networking, endpoint management, and security frameworks. You will partner closely with the CTO to design scalable infrastructure that supports Summit’s core business, data, and operational platforms as the firm continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end ownership of Summit’s technology infrastructure across cloud, on-prem, and end-user environments
- Oversee cybersecurity posture in partnership with external providers, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
- Establish and enforce infrastructure standards across monitoring, alerting, and DevOps practices
- Manage MSP and vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance oversight, and accountability
- Drive cost management, budgeting, and forecasting across infrastructure and technology services
- Oversee Desktop Support and DevOps teams, ensuring operational excellence and responsive service delivery
- Partner with the CTO to define and execute firmwide infrastructure initiatives, including policy development, disaster recovery, and technology modernization
Key Objectives for the First 12–18 Months
- Develop a comprehensive Infrastructure Roadmap that defines future-state architecture, operating model, and scalability needs
- Strengthen cybersecurity controls and operational governance across all technology domains
- Drive AWS modernization and build out of proprietary technology in the Cloud
- Implement standardized monitoring, alerting, and DevOps processes that enhance visibility and reliability
- Establish new BCP and DR runbooks and conduct firmwide testing cycles
- Co-author Technology policies with the CTO (e.g., access control, incident response, change management, acceptable use)
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive infrastructure and technology leadership experience
- Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture, networking, virtualization, and automation frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Proven experience managing MSPs and third-party vendors, including contract negotiation and performance management
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing technology budgets and optimizing infrastructure costs
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and modern enterprise controls
- Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring, identity management, endpoint protection, and patching systems
- Track record of delivering modernization initiatives that improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align technical priorities to business outcomes
- Hedge fund or asset management experience preferred
