We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on manager who thrives on new challenges and is excited about staying close to the code. In this role you will be leading a team that builds modern applications and API’s that perform at scale using best of breed technologies. The ideal candidate must work well in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will work closely with your peers in cross functional teams and be the champion for the team’s technical roadmap and architecture.
**This role operates on a hybrid model, with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Medellín, Colombia location, specifically, working in-office a minimum of 3 days per week.**
Impact You Will Make in the Role: Facilitate agile ceremonies, maintain sprint boards, remove blockers, and implement retrospective feedback to enhance team processesDefine product roadmaps and technical vision with stakeholders, communicate progress, ensure quality standards, and align architecture with business goalsTrack key metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect rates), balance workloads, and implement data-driven planning for sustainable deliveryChampion GAI tool adoption, track usage, measure impact, and integrate into team workflows and performance evaluationManage cross-team dependencies through clear integration points, API contracts, coordinated releases, and comprehensive documentationPresent team progress to stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and other teams in technical discussionsConduct 1:1s, establish goals, perform reviews, create career development frameworks, and mentor team members through technical challengesBuild positive team culture promoting innovation, collaboration, and continuous learningHandle compensation decisions, promotions, hiring, and advocate for resources to address team gapsLead technical decision-making including architecture, technology selection, code reviews, engineering standards, and transforming business requirements into optimized solutionsProvide hands-on technical guidance, establish architectural best practices, identify risks through proof-of-concepts, and develop strategies for eliminating technical debtPlan and execute projects by breaking down requirements, estimating timelines, staying current with emerging technologies, and proactively identifying codebase improvement opportunities What You Will Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or other relevant field, plus 5+ years as a software engineer in a professional software development organizationExperience with SSO and user authentication systems, protocols, standards and patterns (OAUTH, SAML, Token bearer, etc.)3+ years of experience developing web applications, backend services, and test automation (Angular/Python experience preferred), object-oriented design, RESTful APIs, gRPC, testing methodologies, server-side programming languages (Go preferred), web services, and relational databases3+ years of experience with scrum-based software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence and with a large-scale enterprise product and/or distributed SaaS systems1+ year of experience leading all ceremonies for a Scrum team, including daily scrum, end of sprint retrospectives, sprint planning, grooming meetings, and prioritization of work1+ year of experience conducting weekly one on one meetings with staff, setting corrective action plans, executing action plans, and tending to the needs of the team. Excellent time management skills with an emphasis on managing remote resources around the world and across many different time zonesIdentification and management of risks and dependencies, both internal and external, and coordinate delivery of dependencies across multiple teams and productsLong term vision that promotes short term deliverables in quarterly release format based on factual, data driven scope definitionsStrength in planning, scheduling, executing, and finalizing delivery on regular two-week sprint cycles based on individual capacity and team velocity Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and across differing types of audiences.
