Startup & Investor Partnerships Lead (Japan) at Stripe
Stripe is seeking a strategic leader to build and manage partnerships with startups, venture capital firms, accelerators, and other ecosystem players in Japan. This role will drive Stripe’s growth in the Japanese market by designing scalable partnership programs and delivering measurable business impact.
Role overview
- Lead strategy and execution of startup and investor partnerships in Japan.
- Identify and engage key ecosystem players, including accelerators and venture capital firms.
- Design and run co-marketing, integration, and business development initiatives.
- Manage partnerships through the lifecycle from due diligence to launch and optimization.
- Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure partner success and alignment with Stripe’s goals.
- Travel to events and partner meetings as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of strategic partnerships with startups, investors, and ecosystem partners in Japan.
- Negotiate terms and structure deals, contracts, and success metrics.
- Build joint go-to-market plans and value propositions with partners.
- Track performance metrics, partner health, and impact.
- Represent Stripe at ecosystem events, conferences, and merchant meetings.
- Establish scalable onboarding, enablement, and partnership processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in partnerships, business development, or ecosystem management (fintech/payments a plus).
- Deep knowledge of the Japanese startup and venture capital landscape.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across product, engineering, marketing, and sales.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Japanese is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within Japan and internationally as needed.
