Staff Software Engineer, Batch Compute

Job Description

Stripe is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Batch Compute in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will design, implement, and scale batch processing systems that power Stripe's data processing workflows. You will work with distributed systems, build robust backend services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable batch processing systems and services.
• Collaborate with product, data, and reliability teams to deliver robust software.
• Own critical components, drive performance improvements, monitoring, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with multiple years of experience.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, etc.).
• Experience with distributed systems and data processing pipelines.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, SQL databases.
