Risk Operations Associate

Overview

Join Stripe as a Risk Operations Associate to help protect the platform and our customers by monitoring risk signals, investigating alerts, and supporting risk decisions across payments. You will collaborate with payments, security and trust teams to optimize risk controls and prevent fraud.

Responsibilities

• Review and triage risk alerts from Stripe's payments system.
• Investigate suspected fraud and high-risk accounts, including identity verification and merchant checks.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve risk rules, processes, and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation, ensuring timely resolutions.
• Analyze risk data to identify trends and drive improvements in controls.
• Assist merchants with risk-related inquiries and escalations as needed.
• Support compliance requirements and privacy standards within risk operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in risk, payments, fraud, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with data tools; SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
