Risk Operations Analyst, EMEA

Role summary

Role: Risk Operations Analyst, EMEA at Stripe. The role sits within Stripe's Global Risk Operations team and focuses on detecting and preventing payment risk, fraud, and chargebacks across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You will work with cross-functional teams to maintain a safe and reliable payments ecosystem for Stripe's customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate suspicious payments and high-risk activity across the EMEA region.
• Collaborate with Risk, Security, Compliance, and Product teams to implement effective risk controls.
• Develop, test, and tune risk rules, processes, and response playbooks.
• Analyze data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Respond to escalations and coordinate with operations teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and applicable regulations; maintain thorough documentation.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in payments risk, fraud operations, or financial crime compliance.
• Strong data analysis skills; proficient in SQL and Excel; experience with data visualization tools preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to partner with cross-functional teams across time zones in the EMEA region.
• Familiarity with Stripe or other payment processors is a plus; knowledge of chargebacks and risk signals.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
