Role overview

As a People Specialist for APAC based in Bangalore, you will partner with the APAC People team to deliver outstanding employee experiences, ensure compliance with local regulations, and enable Stripe’s growth in the region. You’ll work closely with HR Business Partners, Recruiting, Payroll, and Legal to support employees from onboarding to offboarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline HR support to APAC employees, with a focus on India and neighboring markets.
• Manage onboarding, promotions, transfers, leaves, performance processes, and offboarding in line with local laws and Stripe policies.
• Partner with Payroll, Legal, and Compliance on compensation, benefits, and regulatory requirements.
• Advise managers and employees on people policies, equity programs, and career development.
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data privacy and GDPR/region-specific compliance.
• Help scale the People function as Stripe grows in APAC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in People/HR, preferably supporting APAC or India-based teams.
• Strong written and spoken communication in English; additional APAC languages are a plus.
• Knowledge of local labor laws, payroll regulations, and HR practices in India; familiarity with APAC jurisdiction nuances.
• Ability to navigate sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
• Collaborative mindset, problem-solving skills, and customer-service orientation.
