Position Overview

Stripe is seeking a dedicated Major Financial Crimes & Insider Risk Investigator to join our team in Europe. You will lead investigations into potential financial crimes and insider risk, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help strengthen Stripe’s controls and policies to protect customers and the platform. This role is based in Dublin or London.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough investigations into suspected financial crimes, insider risk, and policy violations affecting Stripe and its customers.
Gather, preserve, and analyze evidence from multiple data sources; maintain chain-of-custody.
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Security, and Engineering to respond to incidents and implement corrective actions.
Develop and refine risk controls, due diligence practices, and internal policies; contribute to regulatory filings as needed.
Draft investigation summaries and reports for internal stakeholders and regulators; present findings clearly.
Monitor emerging fraud and risk indicators; contribute to alert triage and incident response processes.
Mentor junior investigators as needed and contribute to knowledge management.

Requirements

Experience in financial crime investigations, AML/KYC, sanctions screening, or insider risk.
Strong analytical and investigative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to payments, fintech, and technology (AML/CTF, sanctions).
Proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel); ability to work with large datasets and data visualization basics.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; professional certifications (e.g., CFE) a plus.
