Position Overview

Stripe is seeking a dedicated Major Financial Crimes & Insider Risk Investigator to join our team in Europe. You will lead investigations into potential financial crimes and insider risk, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help strengthen Stripe’s controls and policies to protect customers and the platform. This role is based in Dublin or London.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspected financial crimes, insider risk, and policy violations affecting Stripe and its customers.
  • Gather, preserve, and analyze evidence from multiple data sources; maintain chain-of-custody.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Security, and Engineering to respond to incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and refine risk controls, due diligence practices, and internal policies; contribute to regulatory filings as needed.
  • Draft investigation summaries and reports for internal stakeholders and regulators; present findings clearly.
  • Monitor emerging fraud and risk indicators; contribute to alert triage and incident response processes.
  • Mentor junior investigators as needed and contribute to knowledge management.

Requirements

  • Experience in financial crime investigations, AML/KYC, sanctions screening, or insider risk.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to payments, fintech, and technology (AML/CTF, sanctions).
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel); ability to work with large datasets and data visualization basics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; professional certifications (e.g., CFE) a plus.
