Role overview

As Global Partnerships Counsel, APAC at Stripe, you will provide legal support for Stripe’s partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region. You will advise senior leadership and cross‑functional teams on strategic partnerships, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and cross‑border initiatives to enable Stripe’s growth in APAC.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft complex partnership and commercial agreements with strategic partners across APAC
• Provide pragmatic legal advice on regulatory compliance, data privacy, consumer protection, and cross-border data transfers within APAC
• Support product and business teams on new partnership initiatives and product launches
• Coordinate with external counsel and manage the contract lifecycle
• Monitor and interpret changes in APAC laws and regulations affecting partnerships
• Assist with dispute resolution and risk management related to partnerships

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10+ years of in-house or large law firm experience in technology, payments, or fintech with a focus on APAC
• Strong experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and strategic partnerships
• Solid knowledge of APAC regulatory frameworks, privacy/data protection, and consumer protection laws
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence partners and cross-functional teams
• Active bar admission in a relevant jurisdiction; fluency in English (additional APAC languages a plus)
