Developer Experience Engineer

Overview

Stripe is looking for a Developer Experience Engineer to improve how developers interact with our APIs and platform. You will build and maintain SDKs, documentation, samples, and internal tooling to help developers ship products faster and more reliably.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain SDKs and sample applications across languages to simplify integration with Stripe APIs.
• Improve developer documentation, guides, and onboarding experiences to reduce time-to-value.
• Develop internal tools that streamline developer workflows, monitoring, and feedback collection.
• Collaborate with Platform, Documentation, and Developer Relations teams to ship delightful developer experiences.
• Gather and analyze developer feedback to drive product improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Experience with APIs and building developer tooling or SDKs across at least one programming language.
• Familiarity with documentation practices, sample apps, and developer onboarding.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and shipping high-quality developer experiences.
