Role Overview
Stripe is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to design, deploy, monitor, and maintain live video workflows for events, product launches, webinars, and marketing initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality streaming experiences for audiences around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate end-to-end live video workflows for internal and external broadcasts
- Configure and manage encoders, switchers, and routing for SDI and IP video
- Manage RTMP/HLS/DASH streaming pipelines, transcoding, and delivery to CDNs
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and events teams to plan broadcasts and ensure reliability
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues in real time, and implement improvements
- Document processes and contribute to best practices for video operations
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in broadcast engineering, media operations, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with live streaming protocols (RTMP, HLS, DASH) and video transport (SDI, IP-based)
- Experience with encoders and streaming infrastructure in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) and CDNs
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure during live events
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with NDI, SRT, and modern IP-based video workflows
- Familiarity with monitoring/alerting tools for video systems
- Prior experience supporting enterprise events or large-scale productions
