Senior Lead Engineer, Fulfillment Platforms

Overview

Stitch Fix is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Fulfillment Platforms to lead the design, development, and operation of the systems powering our global fulfillment network. In this role, you will partner with product, operations, and data teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance fulfillment platforms that enable fast and accurate order processing, inventory management, and shipment execution. You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and help shape the architecture of Stitch Fix's fulfillment ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers responsible for fulfillment platforms, including inventory management, order routing, warehouse operations, and last-mile integrations.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable microservices, data pipelines, and APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional partners to define roadmaps and technical priorities.
• Ensure reliability, observability, security, and performance; participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor and grow engineers, establish engineering best practices, code reviews, and career development.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Data teams to solve complex fulfillment challenges.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS).
• Experience with large-scale fulfillment or logistics platforms is a plus.
• Proficiency with at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, or Go).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
