Principal Enterprise Data Architect – Stitch Fix
Overview
Stitch Fix is seeking a Principal Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and execution of the company’s enterprise data strategy. This remote role partners with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to build scalable data platforms and enable data-driven decision making across the business.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the enterprise data architecture strategy, standards, and governance processes.
- Design and evolve data platforms (data warehouse, data lake, metadata catalog) with emphasis on reliability, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics to translate business needs into robust data models and pipelines.
- Evaluate and select data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Spark) and establish best practices for data modeling, data quality, and metadata management.
- Mentor senior data architects and engineers; oversee data migration and modernization initiatives.
- Ensure data governance, security, compliance, and privacy controls across the organization.
What we’re looking for
- 10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields; proven leadership in enterprise-scale data programs.
- Strong experience with data modeling, metadata management, data governance, and data quality.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, AWS), SQL, and programming languages (Python, Scala).
- Successful track record delivering scalable data pipelines and platforms for analytics and ML workloads.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
