Lead Software Engineer - Data Platform

Overview

Stitch Fix seeks a Lead Software Engineer - Data Platform to lead the design and evolution of our data platform, enabling scalable data pipelines and data-driven decision making across the business. This remote-friendly role can be based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement data ingestion, processing, storage, and governance components for Stitch Fix's data platform.
• Mentor and lead a team of software engineers, drive technical direction, code reviews, and best practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analytics, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, security, scalability, reliability, and observability across platforms.
• Contribute to roadmap planning, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and performance optimizations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience; at least 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, and building large-scale data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and distributed systems.
• Experience with Databricks, Kafka, streaming and batch processing, and data modeling.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
