State Engagement Manager

📋 Description

• Build and execute state and local engagement strategies for deployment and operations.
• Influence state legislation, regulations, rulemakings, and actions affecting siting and permitting.
• Lead engagement with state regulators and public utility commissions; represent the company in hearings.
• Hire, manage, and coordinate external lobbyists and advisors in key states; align with goals.
• Partner on site selection and site-specific strategies with governments, economic groups, and stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally to translate technical concepts into policy positions.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in state government affairs or regulatory engagement in energy/defense.
• Proven ability to influence state policy or regulatory outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of state legislative processes and permitting.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments.
• Clear communicator with policymakers and engineers.
• Experience in state government, regulatory agencies, or governor’s offices.
