Staff Solutions Engineer

📋 Description

• Drive technical discovery, architecture design, and PoC in pre-sales.
• Partner with Account Executives and Customer Success to craft technical value propositions.
• Deliver demos, workshops, and proposals to C-level and technical stakeholders.
• Build trust with customers; identify technical champions; act as advisor.
• Liaise between customers and Product/Engineering to relay feedback and influence roadmap.
• Lead cross-regional technical initiatives; enhance SE tools, processes, and frameworks for global scalability.
• Mentor junior team members; foster technical excellence; share SE best practices.
• Maintain expert knowledge of LaunchDarkly's platform, integrations, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
• Respond to RFPs and manage technical environments to support enterprise sales motions.
• Translate complex client requirements into scalable, sustainable, and technically sound solutions.
• Represent LaunchDarkly at industry events and customer engagements through travel as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 12+ years in solutions engineering (customer-facing) roles.
• Cloud platform expertise; at least one: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Led and documented PoCs; built technical deal champions.
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks (PII, PCI, HIPAA).
• SDLC, cloud architecture, or DevOps background.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated thought leadership.
• 50% travel required.
