Staff Software Engineer, Scaling AI Systems

📋 Description

• Leverage load testing, chaos engineering, and tests to identify bottlenecks and resolve them.
• Drive code-level changes to rehome apps onto scalable infra for multi-tenant deployments.
• Identify and tune software configuration and parameters to boost performance and scalability.
• Build developer tools and modules to help engineers code faster.
• Collaborate on internal developer platforms (service templates, self-serve infra).
• Establish and adopt SLOs and error budgets; drive metrics for canary releases and health monitoring.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems or tooling.
• Backend engineer with focus on performance and scalability.
• Experience reducing latency using observability and profiling tools.
• Kubernetes and scaling compute services; ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Istio, etc.
• Experience building backend software (Python/Go/Node/Rust); GCP/IaC familiarity.
• Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
