Staff Software Engineer, Billing

📋 Description

• Lead the architectural direction of Zocdoc's billing system as we scale.
• Build event-driven billing workflows and pricing algorithms.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product & Design to solve provider and billing needs.
• Define and implement best practices for code quality and observability.
• Ensure the accuracy and stability of the billing engine; triage issues with the team.
• Integrate GenAI tools to optimize planning and coding efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building and scaling high-performance backends, ETLs, and APIs.
• Cloud-native environments (AWS) and owning infrastructure as code.
• Ownership mindset; drive projects to completion; ambiguity as opportunity.
• Integrated generative AI tools to automate tasks and boost productivity.
• Leadership in testing, deployment, and observability practices.
