Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Work closely with stakeholders and users to define requirements
• Translate requirements into reliable, extensible Java applications
• Work with an engineering team to make key design and technical implementation decisions
• Have a holistic view of processes from order to result in a multi-product clinical lab
• Understand LIMS features and propose solutions with trade-off analysis
• Leverage existing functionality to focus resources on unmet needs
• Integrate other enterprise systems and services to create seamless business processes
• Improve development processes and evangelize best practices
• Develop and maintain automated tests
• Provide second-tier production support

🎯 Requirements

• BS degree in computer science or equivalent
• 10+ years software development experience, preferably with data/process applications in production
• 10+ years OO programming in Java, Spring/Hibernate
• 10+ years web services (REST), XML/JSON, and relational databases (Oracle)
• 10+ years implementing and configuring LabVantage LIMS
• Excellent communication
• Commitment to diversity in engineering
• Nice to have: Experience integrating LabVantage LIMS with external apps
• Nice to have: Experience configuring infrastructure and software used by LabVantage LIMS
• Nice to have: Experience configuring LIMS to support order-to-result workflows
• Nice to have: Experience upgrading a LabVantage LIMS system
• Nice to have: Front-end web programming with modern JS frameworks (React/Angular)
• Nice to have: Healthcare IT experience
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Object Oriented Programming
• Java Enterprise Edition
• JavaScript
• Relational Database and SQL Programming, prefer Oracle
• REST APIs and other Web service backend technologies
• CI / CD
• Quality Assurance Mindset; familiarity with regulated environments
