Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Set architectural direction for cross-pod systems (UI to backend).
• Raise code quality, system design standards for scalable, secure systems.
• Lead technical direction across pods and guide long-term planning.
• Collaborate with Product/Design to shape tech strategy and estimates.
• Mentor engineers and run level-up initiatives (PR standards, reviews).
• Champion security, performance, and observability.
• Lead incident response and own system reliability.
• Lead talks with Partners on integration, performance, security challenges.
• Contribute to recruitment and onboarding for a diverse Engineering team.
• Support platform through pod-based on-call rotation.

🎯 Requirements

• Full-stack exp in Ruby, Python, or JS/Node.js with deep expertise in one.
• Experience setting architectural direction for scalable, incremental delivery.
• Ship code for tens of thousands of users including Enterprise SaaS.
• Proficiency with MVC frameworks (Rails or Django).
• Strong front-end/back-end skills with React and Vue.js.
• Deep SQL experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle) and AWS/Heroku deployment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship growing engineers.
• Ability to influence beyond your team with Engineers, Product, Partners.
• Judgment to balance speed with maintainability and scale.
• 12+ years hands-on development, with leadership/architect role.
