Staff+ Security Engineer, Risk Engineering

📋 Description

• Take ownership of Anthropic’s most complex security risk problems end-to-end.
• Build systems to quantify risk and scale, incl. tooling, intake, triage, and observability.
• Collaborate with Security Engineering to test architectures and justify remediation investments.
• Mentor engineers and risk practitioners, fostering a risk engineering culture.
• Work across security domains (identity/secrets, dev security, infra/cloud) to reason about risk.
• Design AI-native risk tooling (Claude-based) and dashboards for real-time risk visibility.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in software or security engineering, incl. leading and remediating complex risks.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming in Python or systems languages (Go, Rust, C/C++).
• Broad security knowledge with depth in at least one area (e.g., identity/secrets, infra/cloud, or secure frameworks).
• Calibrated risk judgment with defensible severity and adjustable stance as evidence evolves.
• Excellent communication, cross-functional leadership, ownership, and passion for AI safety.
