Staff ML/AI Engineer

📋 Description

• Build and deploy ML/AI systems for large legal data.
• Bridge research to production software and scope features.
• Design ML infra; champion MLOps for repeatable lifecycles.
• Mentor engineers; raise technical bar; lead by example.
• Collaborate with data scientists, security, product, design.
• Onsite in Oakland; 3 days/week; full-time exempt.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years software engineering with 4+ years ML in production SaaS.
• Strong ML fundamentals: math, optimization, and evaluation.
• Pragmatic approach; know when simple models fit product goals.
• MLOps: Kubernetes, Docker, Weights & Biases, MLFlow; AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Python plus Go or Java; PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Collaborative, effective communication; stay current with ML/AI.
