- Set up and manage internal materials lab and testing equipment.
- Operate mechanical testing systems for tension, compression, shear, fatigue, and bonding.
- Develop FAA-conformed material qualification programs (in-house and external labs).
- Author and maintain material specs, test plans, qualification procedures, and docs.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and certification teams to meet requirements.
- Analyze test data and support failure investigations with corrective actions.
🎯 Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Materials Science, Chemical Eng, Mechanical Eng, or related; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years in aerospace or electric vehicle materials and process engineering.
- Hands-on experience operating mechanical test equipment and managing material qualification programs.
- Strong understanding of FAA material qualification requirements under 14 CFR Part 23.
- Familiarity with composite manufacturing, adhesive bonding testing, and resins (epoxy, polyurethane).
- Knowledge of standards including ASTM, MIL, and FAA Advisory Circulars.
