Staff Flight Software Engineer, Interplanetary Sciences Program

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and test flight software for spacecraft command, control, autonomy.
• Own full lifecycle software development: requirements, design, implementation, testing.
• Collaborate with avionics, GNC, propulsion, and ops teams for software–hardware integration.
• Develop and execute V&V to ensure flight safety, reliability, mission success.
• Support on-vehicle and HIL testing, debugging, and mission simulations.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, AE, EE, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded/real-time flight software development, testing, and delivery.
• Strong C++ proficiency; memory management, concurrency, embedded systems design.
• Experience with RTOS or Linux-based embedded development, integration, and system testing.
• Proven ability to scope open-ended problems, work autonomously, deliver flight-ready software, and collaborate in a fast-paced team.
• Nice to have: Spaceflight software experience (spacecraft/launch vehicles) is a plus.
