Staff Fiber Network Engineer

📋 Description

• Own the fiber network's physical layer end-to-end across PoPs and data centers.

• Plan terrestrial and subsea fiber routes; evaluate diversity, latency, OSNR.

• Define inventory system, acceptance standards, and vendor bench for the program.

• Collaborate with optical/transport engineers, routing, and data center teams.

• Build Anternet fiber program from the ground up; set standards and testing.

• Oversee route engineering, vendor delivery, and milestones to lit fibers.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of OSP/fiber planning or network delivery experience.

• Experience taking dark-fiber routes from design to acceptance; read OTDR traces.

• Vendor landscape knowledge: IRU vs lease, conduit, pricing, MSAs.

• Proficiency with GIS/KMZ tooling for route design and inventory data.

• Deep understanding of optical transport (DWDM, span loss, CD/PMD).

• Single owner for physical delivery across concurrent builds; travel occasionally.
