- Own Vast's electric propulsion test facilities and decisions across buildup and operation
- Define system requirements, procedures, and test plans for thrusters
- Plan and execute development and qualification campaigns, including hotfire testing
- Track future propulsion modalities (Arcjets, Resistojets, MPDTs)
- Collaborate with Propulsion, GNC, Power, Structures, Reliability, and ECLSS for integration
- Lead or support root-cause investigations across development to flight
π― Requirements
- B.S. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Eng, Physics, or related field
- Familiarity with roughing pumps, turbo pumps, and cryogenic pumping
- Experience with high-voltage harnessing in vacuum
- Demonstrated expertise in electric propulsion testing
- Diagnostics: thrust stands, Faraday probes, and RPAs
- Deep knowledge of Hall Effect Thruster design, operation, and qualification
- Propellant feed system integration (thruster-PPU-propellant)
- Travel up to 10%, after-hours work, lift 25 lbs
