Sr Staff Cloud Platform Engineer

📋 Description

• Serve as technical leader for the Cloud Platform Engineering team in India.
• Architect and drive large-scale distributed cloud platforms and core infra services.
• Set engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across the India team.
• Lead development of platform services, automation frameworks, and tooling for reliability and performance.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and hands-on collaboration.
• Partner with global architects, SREs, product managers to align vision and execution.
• Act as a key technical decision-maker balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health.
• Drive production excellence, including observability, incident response, RCAs, and remediation.
• Maintain working hours overlapping US Pacific Time for collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• 13+ years of cloud/platform/DevOps with staff/principal leadership experience.
• Expert in scalable cloud services on AWS, GCP, Azure, or OpenStack.
• Own CI systems (GitLab CI), source control (GitLab), and build infra.
• Experience building as-a-service platforms (Artifactory/Nexus) and image factories.
• Security-first mindset: PAM, secrets management, identity lifecycle.
• IaC (Terraform), config management (Ansible), and Python/Go/Bash.
• Kubernetes, Helm, and managed clusters (GKE/EKS/AKS).
• Windows build/deploy platform experience.
• SRE practices: incident mgmt, observability, SLOs, reliability.
• Excellent communication and mentoring to senior engineers and leadership.
• Must overlap with US Pacific Time for collaboration.
• BS in CS or equivalent experience.
