📋 Description

• Verifies test requisitions; notes discrepancies with unit staff.
• Verifies patient identity.
• Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintains specimen integrity with aseptic technique.
• Tracks specimens with initials, dates, and times.
• Resolves unusual test orders by contacting physician or lab.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years phlebotomy experience.
• BS/BA degree preferred.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required by state.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI privacy.
• Strong aseptic technique and safety awareness.
