Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Starship Avionics)

📋 Description

• Design custom instrumentation for extreme thermal, dynamic, and pressure envs
• Design integrated solutions for fluid and electro-mechanical assemblies
• Hands-on with manufacturing: pressure/thermal testing, laser welding
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analyses using hand calculations and FEA
• Create 3D models and production drawings; maintain design data
• Conduct failure analysis for thermal, loads, vibration, and shock

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, systems, or electrical engineering
• Experience with CAD and FEA software
• 5+ years in mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing
• Master's degree in engineering or related discipline (preferred)
• 2+ years hands-on project experience with complex mechanical systems; team lead preferred
• Proficient in hand calculations, FEA, and CAD
• Exposure to design for manufacturability in high-volume production
• GD&T and structural analysis knowledge; PCB layout exposure
