Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Machining (Starship)

📋 Description

• Lead in-house machining capabilities for Starship components to supply high-precision parts to assembly lines.
• Conduct DFM analyses on parts and assemblies to optimize manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
• Foster feedback loops with downstream design, testing, and integration teams to enable rapid improvements and mitigate risks.
• Oversee investigation and disposition of quality issues from part inspections with root-cause analysis.
• Identify, procure, install, and maintain machining equipment, including calibration protocols.
• Direct CapEx strategy, staffing, equipment specs, and production layouts to align with mission objectives.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics.
• 5+ years machining experience.
• Experience taking products from R&D into production.
• Master's degree or PhD in engineering.
• 3+ years leadership in manufacturing; setting up/operating state-of-the-art machining equipment.
• Proficiency in GD&T and inspection procedures.
