Sr Director, Mechanical Design Engineering, Tooling

📋 Description

• Lead and develop tooling engineering team delivering safe, efficient production.
• Define and execute long-term tooling strategy across design, manufacturing, ops.
• Oversee design, fabrication, and commissioning of complex tooling.
• Manage tooling project portfolio, driving cost, schedule, performance.
• Partner with design and manufacturing for tooling readiness.
• Standardize best practices for tooling docs, PM, and config control.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
• 12+ years in tooling design or manufacturing engineering; 6+ years in leadership.
• CAD and PLM expertise: NX, Teamcenter, CATIA, SolidWorks.
• Experience leading large-scale tooling initiatives for complex hardware.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Cross-functional program management balancing cost, schedule, performance.
• Experience with factory automation, lifting/handling systems, or test tooling.
