- Lead litigation & regulatory defense end-to-end.
- Develop defense strategies with outside counsel and teams.
- Manage outside counsel: staffing, strategy, budgets, outcomes.
- Report to leadership/Board on litigation and regulatory matters.
- Lead discovery, holds, settlements, mediation, ADR.
- Respond to agency inquiries (CFPB, FTC, SEC, OCC, FRB, FDIC).
- Identify trends and recommend risk-reducing improvements.
- Design policies and scalable risk-management processes.
🎯 Requirements
- J.D. from accredited law school; active bar in good standing.
- 12+ years legal experience; 7+ years in consumer finance.
- Proven experience managing complex litigation from start to resolution.
- Fintech/consumer finance, class actions, arbitrations.
- Regulatory inquiries experience (CFPB, FTC, SEC, OCC, etc.).
- Strong negotiation, writing, and communication; familiarity with legal tech/AI.
