Sr. Data Engineer I

📋 Description

• Explore, evaluate, and integrate external partner APIs for DV Scibids.
• Collaborate with Product to define constraints and decisions.
• Design, build, maintain backend services used by DV teams.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and reconcile data.
• Handle large datasets from ad auctions; ensure reliability at scale.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Eng teams.
• Operate production systems; investigate issues; implement fixes.
• Release features with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Improve observability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Partner with AI platform teams to enable agentic solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in data or backend engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL; Java/Rust a plus.
• Experience integrating external APIs and production services.
• Able to reason about ambiguous external platform behavior.
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines or services.
• Familiar with cloud, Git, CI/CD, Docker, and container orchestration.
• Able to collaborate with PMs and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong cross-team communication skills.
• Focus on automation, reliability, observability, and data-driven decisions.
• AI-augmented development; Claude Code or Cursor welcome but not required.
• AdTech or auction knowledge is a plus.
