Software Engineer, Frontend - Websites Experience

Websites and our CMS is the core of Squarespace. The mission of the Platform team is to modernize and evolve Squarespace's primary product offering, our Website builder and CMS. As a frontend engineer, you'll help develop systems and frameworks that empower both internal teams and external customers to build features on top of the Website builder in a secure and self-service manner. This role requires a strong focus on frontend technologies to create scalable, maintainable code and tackle challenges in UI performance, component design, and user experience, all while contributing to the overall architecture and reducing technical debt.

This is a hybrid role based in our Dublin office. You'll report to the Engineering Team Manager for the Websites Experience team and work alongside a collaborative, high-performing team.

• Design: Create and build features that enhance the Squarespace interface, focusing on intuitive, customer-centered experiences.
• Develop: Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to deliver innovative solutions that prioritize user needs.
• Innovate: Keep our products at the forefront by integrating the latest frontend technologies, such as React and ES2015+.
• Maintain: Uphold high standards of software engineering, emphasizing automated testing, code reviews, and writing clean, pragmatic code.
• Contribute: Actively support and refine team and company-wide standards, ensuring consistent quality across projects.

• Have 3-5 years of experience developing web-based production systems, with a focus on building user-facing products and platforms using JavaScript (including React and TypeScript).
• Keep a user-first mindset when developing products.
• Have experience contributing to modular UI components that enable other teams to easily integrate new features.
• Be eager to continue expanding your technical knowledge and influence across teams as a hands-on individual contributor.
