We are now looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager, preferably with experience of frontend/fullstack development and a user-centered agile development approach. The team owns the contract configuration domain and is transitioning from owning many frontends across our internal UI suite within the Payout area to building a platform that supports other financial product teams in building their own interfaces.

You will evolve and further develop an empowered engineering team, and work in close partnership with the squad’s Product Manager and directly with our stakeholders to enable Spotify’s business model and to help creators around the world to make their living.

This is a highly visible and rewarding role with the potential to make a positive impact in an area directly involved in some of Spotify's top company initiatives. We are building systems to address problems that are unsolved in the industry. Our partners in Accounting, Legal & Licensing and Creator Marketplace all rely on us delivering something extra.

What You'll Do

  • Build, lead and empower a team of cross-discipline engineers. Provide inspiration and technical leadership.
  • Own the technical aspects of entire projects, feature sets and modules without needing daily oversight.
  • Champion high architectural standards, drive sound technical decisions and promote innovative solutions in an iterative, fail-fast environment.
  • Own your team’s overall delivery: timely, with the right functionality and the right quality.
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices in your team.
  • Actively foster a healthy team. Coach, mentor and provide career development guidance.
  • Be an active partner to your product and engineering peers as part of an effective thought leadership team for the product area
  • Who You Are

  • Experienced in leading, coaching and mentoring software development teams delivering stable, maintainable and scalable software
  • Thrive on solving complex problems in an iterative fashion, delivering frequent tactical wins while making progress towards longer term strategic goals.
  • Have solid development experience in backend or frontend (data engineering is nice-to-have) - you can perform peer code reviews and architectural reviews, as well as ship code on your own.
  • Possess very good communication skills, and an ability to tailor communication style to different audiences (team members, customers and end users, senior management etc.).
  • You preferably have enterprise process domain knowledge and have engaged with quality and compliance standards such as SOX and ITGC.
  • Solid experience of working in an agile development environment where lines of responsibilities are sometimes blurry.
  • Where You'll Be

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role it can either be Stockholm or London
  • Working hours? We operate within the Central European Time Zone (CET) for collaboration purposes
