Overview

Speechify is hiring a Tech Lead to own the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension from our Sheffield office. You will lead architectural decisions, ship frontend features, and mentor a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend architecture for Speechify’s web core product and Chrome extension.
• Mentor engineers, set coding standards, review pull requests, and drive engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define roadmaps and deliver high-impact features.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and security best practices across the frontend stack.
• Promote a culture of ownership, testing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience leading frontend teams or tech-leading complex web applications.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend tools.
• Experience developing Chrome extensions and web platforms.
• Ability to design scalable frontend architectures and drive performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
