Job Overview

Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead for the Web Core Product & Chrome Extension to join our team in Seoul, South Korea. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping the frontend architecture of Speechify's web platform and Chrome extension, guiding a team of engineers, and delivering high-quality features.

Responsibilities

• Own frontend architecture and technical direction for Speechify's Web Core Product and Chrome extension
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of frontend engineers
• Collaborate with product, design, backend, and QA to plan and ship features
• Ensure performance, accessibility, reliability, and maintainability of the frontend codebase
• Review code, drive best practices, and manage release processes
• Stay up-to-date with web standards and evolving frontend technologies
• Balance shipping velocity with quality and technical debt management

Requirements

• 5+ years of frontend development experience; 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React (or similar modern frontend frameworks)
• Experience with Chrome extension development is a strong plus
• Deep understanding of web performance, security, and accessibility
• Experience with modern tooling and testing (e.g., Webpack/Vite, Jest, Cypress)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to mentor others
• Willingness to work on-site in Seoul, South Korea
