About Speechify

Speechify is a leading text-to-speech platform that helps millions of users read more efficiently. We are seeking a Tech Lead for our Web Core Product and Chrome Extension based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Role Overview

You will guide the technical direction of Speechify's web platform and Chrome extension, own frontend architecture, and lead a small team of engineers to build fast, accessible features. You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software that enhances the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision for the web core product and Chrome extension.
• Lead frontend development, code reviews, mentoring, and team growth.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to design scalable, performant solutions.
• Ensure code quality, testing, accessibility, and performance optimizations.
• Champion best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, and release processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend development with leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills.
• Experience with React (or similar) and building Chrome extensions/WebExtensions.
• Familiarity with web performance optimization, accessibility, and security basics.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
