Tech Lead, Web Core Product & Chrome Extension - Kharkiv, Ukraine

Overview

Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead for the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension in Kharkiv, Ukraine to guide the development of Speechify’s web core product and browser extension. You will help shape architecture, lead frontend engineers, and collaborate with product and design to deliver fast, accessible experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and roadmap for the web core product and Chrome extension.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing frontend team.
• Set coding standards, review code, and drive quality, performance, and security.
• Build scalable frontend architectures and UI components.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship features end-to-end.
• Ensure accessibility and performance across browsers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of frontend development experience with a track record of delivering web applications.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React).
• Experience building browser extensions, particularly Chrome extensions.
• Knowledge of web performance, security, accessibility, and testing.
• Proven leadership and mentoring ability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
