Tech Lead, Web Core Product & Chrome Extension - Hsinchu, Taiwan

Job Description

Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead for the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension to join our team in Hsinchu, Taiwan. You will define and drive the technical direction for Speechify's web platform and Chrome extension, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver fast, accessible, and reliable experiences for our users.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and hands-on development of Speechify's web core product and Chrome extension.
• Mentor and grow a frontend team, review code, and establish best practices.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define technical roadmaps and deliver high-quality features.
• Champion performance, accessibility, testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability across the web stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with a track record in frontend engineering.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React).
• Hands-on experience building Chrome extensions and using Chrome extension APIs; familiarity with Chromium-based web apps.
• Experience with web performance optimization, accessibility standards, and testing (CI/CD).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
