Tech Lead, Web Core Product & Chrome Extension - Dnipro, Ukraine

Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead for the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension to join our team in Dnipro, Ukraine. In this role, you will guide the technical direction of Speechify’s web platform and browser extension, collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Define and own frontend architecture for the web core product and Chrome extension
• Lead code reviews, drive quality, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to plan and deliver features
• Mentor engineers and help grow the team
• Contribute to hiring decisions and help scale the engineering organization

Requirements

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience with a track record of leading teams
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and React (or similar frameworks)
• Experience building Chrome Extensions and web extension APIs
• Deep understanding of performance optimization, accessibility, and user experience
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, server-side rendering, or full-stack capabilities
• Familiarity with testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern tooling
