Overview

Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead for the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension in Bucharest, Romania. You will guide the technical direction of our web platform, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design, and QA to deliver high-quality features for our Chrome extension and core web product.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture and technical direction for the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension.
• Lead and mentor frontend engineers; review code and promote engineering best practices.
• Develop robust, maintainable frontend code using TypeScript/JavaScript and React.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA to plan, prioritize, and ship features.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, security, and quality across web and extension experiences.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and tooling.
• Contribute to component libraries and development standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend development experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong experience with React and building Chrome extensions or WebExtensions.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
• Deep understanding of web performance, accessibility, and testing.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
